WRITER'S MUSE is constantly looking for pieces to publish. Primarily we prefer short stories but will also look at articles, reviews of books, films, videos and DVDs, short plays etc. Sorry, no poetry of any description.

Short stories can be any length and generally the upper limit is around 2,500 – 3,000 words but don’t let this put you off sending anything higher – quality is what counts.

Short stories should be written on A4 paper in double spacing, unjustified type with decent margins all round. (A cover sheet is helpful but not essential.) Each page should be numbered (except the first) and it may be useful to have the title and author indicated, also, to identify it should it become detached. Quote a rounded up number of words at the foot of the last page (and on the cover sheet) and repeat your name, address and telephone number.

Whatever you send, always include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for a reply or return of manuscript. We are unable to process any submissions without an SAE.

When submitting, please ensure we have your full name, address and, if possible, a short author’s biography of three or four sentences to accompany your piece should we accept it for publication.

Writer’s Muse can be purchased singly (£3.50 per issue, plus 75p p&p - total £4.25p) from the above address. To ensure you get your copy without delay, place a regular order.
If you wish to be assured of not missing an issue of the Muse, you can take out a year-long subscription for only £18 (UK ONLY). This price is a saving of £7.50 for six bi-monthly issues and ensures that you will receive each issue prior to its advertised publication date.
Alternatively, you can subscribe for two years, paying only £34.00, which is a total saving of £17.00!
